Getting started on Linux

21 Apr 2017, 22:14

Hi, I have just downloaded the C++ SDK for NoesisGUI but I can't seem to find the Linux compiled version of the software. Is there anything that I'm missing ? Thanks.

Sorry, Linux is yet not officially included in 2.0 but it is probably going to be in the next release. Please contact us in private if this is critical for you.

I would also like to use Noesis GUI on Linux (Ubuntu, to be exact). When should we anticipate Linux support? Thanks!

It is already supported (x86 and x86_64) since 2.0.2f1.

The same as ´fire_water´.
I can't find the launcher on ´2.0.2f1´ for both Linux and OSX.
There is only a ´/Bin/XamlPlayer.exe´. Should we compile or something?
Many thanks

Linux and OSX are supported in the stable 2.0 version. With supported I mean, you have the corresponding dynamic library for each platform. But we don't provide helper programs (like XamlPlayer) in those platforms. This is changing in 2.1 (beta right now for windows) where all the platforms will be equally supported. The plan is having 2.1 before the end of year.

We already have 2.1 for Linux (with XamlPlayer and all the examples). We were going to release today, but we decided to delay it due to a minor issue. It is almost there, stay tuned!
